NSW Sexual Offence Statistics 2025

New research from the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) highlights that non-alcohol-related sexual offences across New South Wales have remained relatively stable over the two years to June 2025, though rates vary considerably across regions.

Lower offence rates continue to be recorded in Sydney’s Ryde, Hornsby, and Baulkham Hills districts — areas recognised for strong community cohesion and low crime overall. Conversely, higher rates are observed in parts of regional NSW such as the Far West and Orana, Riverina, and Coffs Harbour – Grafton, where small populations can make incident rates appear proportionally higher.

While overall state trends remain consistent, local differences underline the importance of understanding safety when making housing and investment decisions. Areas with lower rates of sexual offences tend to align with higher lifestyle appeal, stronger rental demand, and long-term buyer confidence. The following table presents the latest regional data for non-alcohol-related sexual offences across NSW.
